Quick question about the sprint

Hey, I know you said to flag things early, so I wanted to mention — I've been covering for Jordan on the API work since last week and I'm not sure how much longer I can keep both tracks going. I don't want to make it a big thing, but could we talk sometime today? — Sarah

01

A problem arrives

Not a case study. An email from a team member with a real tension — the kind that doesn’t come with instructions.

02

You write back

No branching paths. No suggested responses. Just you, choosing your words, making the call.

03

You see what you missed

A personalized debrief reveals how you led — what landed, what didn’t, and what your instincts say about your style.

Our promise

Intentional

Writing makes you lead, not just react.

When you write a reply, you commit. No hedging with tone. No reading the room. Just your words, your judgment, your decision. This mirrors how leadership actually happens — over email, in Slack, through the messages that shape your team’s direction.

  • DeliberationYou can’t improvise. You have to decide before you hit send.
  • AuthenticityNo charisma to lean on. Your instincts show.
  • Real-world fidelityMost leadership moments are written, not spoken.
Earned

Leadership is built through reps, not granted by a credential.

You can’t read your way into grace under pressure. The conversations that shape a team don’t come with multiple choice. Each scenario here is crafted by people who’ve managed teams, played by you with team members who respond to your actual words, and closed with a debrief shaped by a coach. What you can do when it’s your turn is what you’ll have earned.

  • Scenarios by humansEvery situation is crafted by people who’ve managed teams.
  • Your actual wordsTeam members respond to what you write, not what you select.
  • Coaching, not scoringYour debrief is shaped by a coach, not an algorithm.
Practice

Test what the books teach. See what actually works.

You’ve read about radical candor, situational leadership, difficult conversations. But reading isn’t doing. Here, you get reps — try the approach, see how your team responds, learn what lands. The stakes feel real. The consequences don’t.

  • Safe to failA bad call here costs nothing. A good one teaches everything.
  • Test the theoryTry radical candor. See if your team responds the way the book says.
  • Reps, not lecturesOne conversation teaches more than ten frameworks.

Questions

What to expect

Most scenarios take 45-75 minutes to complete. Emails arrive with realistic delays (15-60 minutes between responses), so you can fit it into your workday without blocking out a large chunk of time.

No. Everything happens through your regular email inbox. After signing up, you receive a personal portal URL to track your progress, but all communication with your team happens via email.

Each team member has a distinct personality — communication style, conflict style, hidden motivations — and responds based on your actual words, not a script. They adapt to your communication style and remember previous exchanges in the scenario. The technology powering this is Claude (Anthropic).

Mistakes are part of learning. The scenario continues based on your choices, and you receive coaching on communication patterns in your final debrief. There are no "game overs" — just realistic consequences and learning opportunities.

No. We have two tracks: one for engineering managers navigating team dynamics (burnout, retention, promotions) and one for staff engineers driving technical decisions (proposals, architecture trade-offs, cross-team influence).

Your first scenario is completely free. After that, you can purchase individual scenarios for €149 each, or a full 3-scenario program for €199. No subscriptions, no recurring fees — just pay for the experiences you want.

Yes! We offer team pricing as a one-time purchase starting at €99 per person for groups of 5 or more, including a team debrief dashboard for coaching conversations. Learn more about team pricing →

Yes. No credit card, no commitment. One full scenario with a personalized coaching debrief at the end.
